LM338K is an adjustable 3 terminal positive voltage regulator. It has the capability of supplying about 5A current over a 1.2v to 32v output range. This can be also used as a constant current regulator.

LM317K is a positive adjustable voltage regulator which supplies more than 1.5A of load current. The output voltage can be adjustable between 1.2v to 37v. The main feature is that it has load regulation with floating operation of high voltage. Current limiting with thermal shutdown with SOA control is the most primary feature of this voltage regulator. All overload protection circuitry remains fully functional even if the adjustment terminal is disconnected. The output will be short circuit protected.

The LM723CN is designed for supplying currents upto 10A with external transistors and the minimum of 150mA current without external pass transistors. The maximum voltage which is given as input is 40V. This can be used as either a linear or a switching regulator. This regulator is also used as a shunt regulator, current regulator or a temperature controller. 0 to 30v variable power supply is one of the applications for this voltage regulator.
