The ADA4940-1/ADA4940-2 are low noise, low distortion, ultra-low power differential amplifiers, making them ideal for driving low power, high resolution, high-performance SAR and Σ-Δ type analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with resolutions up to 18 bits and DC to 1 MHz. With a static current of only 1.25 mA, the adjustable common-mode output level of the ADA4940-1/ADA4940-2 allows them to be matched to the input common-mode voltage of multiple ADCs.
An internal common-mode feedback loop can provide excellent output balance and suppress even-order harmonic distortion products.
For the ADA4940-1/ADA4940-2, a simple external feedback network composed of four resistors can easily achieve differential gain configuration, and the feedback network determines the closed-loop gain of the amplifier.
The ADA4940-1/ADA4940-2 is manufactured with ADI's complementary bipolar process, which can achieve extremely low distortion levels and input voltage noise of only 3.9 nV/√Hz.
Low DC offset and excellent dynamic performance make the ADA4940-1/ADA4940-2 especially suitable for various data acquisition and signal processing applications.
The ADA4940-1 is packaged in a 3 mm x 3 mm, 16-pin lead-free LFCSP.
The ADA4940-2 is packaged in a 4 mm x 4 mm, 24-pin lead-free LFCSP.
The pin arrangement is optimized to facilitate printed circuit board (PCB) layout and wiring, and minimize distortion. The rated operating temperature range for the ADA4940-1 and ADA4940-2 is -40°C to +125°C.
