Sanken SP-40W is an Integrated Circuit Power Module designed for Audio Signal processing i.e. hifi sound amplification with rated capacity of 40Watts. These modules are often found in pioneer and JVC Audio systems. It is silicon monolithic chip designed for Power Darlington Pack.
The basic circuit design consists of NPN and PNP base transistors.
Following are the pin functions for the IC;
1- Pin 1: Vcc Voltage Common Collector
2- Pin 2: NPN Base
3- Pin 3: NPN Emitter
4- Pin 4: Center Point
5- Pin 5: Vss Voltage Supply Source
6- Pin 6: PNP Base
7- Pin 7: PNP Emitter
8- Pin 8: Not Connected

3- Supply Voltage 80V (+/- 40 V)

This type of ICs are used in Darlington Pack, consisting of 4 transistors and set of diodes. Plastic Packed Transistor bank is ROHS complaint and easy to mount. Total of 8 pins are easy to solder. The circuit has thermal resistance and operation range for temperature is -20°C to +125°C.
