Fiber-Optic Transceiver module for Long-Distance transmission has strict requirements on the range of receiving optical power . If the optical power exceeds the range of the receiving sensitivity, the optical transceiver module may fail. The usage methods and precautions are as follows:
1. Do not connect the jumper immediately after installing the long-distance optical transceiver module to the device. Use the command line display transceiver diagnosis interface to read the light output power of the optical transceiver module. Check transmitted optical power and the received optical power within the normal range . The software usually shows that the received optical power may be -40dB or less when the optical fiber is not connected.
2. If available, the optical power meter can be used to test that the received optical power is within the normal receiving range so that the optical fiber can be connected to the above long-distance optical transceiver module.
3. In any case, Fiber-Optic Transceiver module for long-distance transmission cannot be directly tested by using optical fibers. If necessary, an optical attenuator must be connected so that the received optical power can be tested within the receiving range.
4. When using the long-distance optical transceiver module, the received power must have a certain margin, and the actual received power should be more than 3 dB higher than the receiving sensitivity. If it does not meet ,please add the attenuator.
5, Optical transceiver module can be completely without attenuation in the transmission of 10km, under normal circumstances,it will add attenuation if more than 40km and can not be directly connected, otherwise it is easy to burn ROSA.
